Chandigarh, June 16
Students, Research Scholar and Faculty of Centre for Police Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh visited the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, Karnal, Haryana.
The purpose of this visit was to expose to the students the working of Police academy, show its infrastructure and give an opportunity of interaction with the newly recruited trainees of the academy.
There were 48 students and 3 faculty members along with one office staff in the group which visited the academy. Dr. C.S. Rao, Director, Haryana Police Academy, welcomed the visiting group and expressed his happiness to know that apart from police academy course on police administration is being imparted to students in a regular mode from a highly prestigious institution, i.e. Panjab University.
Prof. Anil Monga, Chairperson of the centre shared that this kind of visits helps in bridging the gap between police and society and results in improving the relations between the two. During this visit the students visited different departments such as, Commando unit, indoor firing range, firing simulator, CCTNS, Police Museum, Harshvardhan Auditorium and newly created Recreational Room at the academy.
An interaction with the newly recruited batch of Sub-inspectors undergoing training of the academy and students from the centre in the presence of academy instructors was the special feature of the visit. The students of the centres made queries from the trainees about the training method, content and problems faced by them and felt motivated at the end the session.
Sh. Bharat Bhushan, DSP, Sh. Sunder Singh, DSP, Sh. Anirudh Chauhan, DSP from the academy and Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Professor, Dr. M. Sanjeev Singh, Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty), Mr. Satnam Singh, Research Scholar and Mr. Suresh Kumar, Office staff from the Centre for Police Administration were present on the occasion.
