SRINAGAR, JUNE 16:
Continuing its anti-encroachment drive to retrieve the State/ Kahcharai land from the land grabbers, the District Administration Srinagar on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad today undertook a massive anti-encroachment drive across the district and retrieved over 20 Kanals of State/ Kahcharai land at prime locations worth several crores.
The anti-encroachment teams of Revenue and Police Officers/ Officials headed by respective Tehsildars of Srinagar District conducted an anti-encroachment drive in Tehsil Eidgah, Pantha Chowk, South Srinagar, Shalteng, Khanyar and North Tehsil of the district.
Giving details about the encroached land retrieved, it was informed that 2 kanals of land was retrieved in Sonwar area in Tehsil South of the district, 3 Kanals at Khonmoh area in Panthchowk Tehsil and 5 kanals in Zoonimar area of Eidgah Tehsil.
Similarly, in Tehsil North of the District over 7 kanals of land were retrieved in Saidpora area under Harwan Nayabat and about 2 kanals of land have been retrieved at Zainakote and Mujgund areas under Shalteng Tehsil of the district.
While in Khanyar Tehsil of the district, more than 2 kanals of State was retrieved in Brien area under Buchwara Nayabat.
Speaking about the anti-encroachment drive undertaken to preserve Government land, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar said anti-encroachment drives will continue in other parts of the district to retrieve entire State and Kahcharai lands encroached by the land grabbers. He said involvement in land encroachment will be dealt with sternly as per the law.
