Dr. Tanzeer Kaur, faculty at the Department of Biophysics, Panjab University,
Chandigarh has been awarded SERB International Research Experience for the year 2022-2023 supported by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), a statutory body of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The fellowship will allow Dr. Tanzeer Kaur to pursue a collaborative research project to study the molecular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease, with Prof. Allen Kaasik, at the Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine, University of Tartu, (Estonia).
Dr. Tanzeer Kaur has been working in the field of neurodegeneration and she has handled various research grants funded by ICMR, SERB, and DST in the previous years. Her research focus is to develop drugs and find novel drug targets for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
The award will boost an international collaboration of Panjab University, Chandigarh with University of Tartu, Estonia where Dr. Tanzeer Kaur will be spending next six months to accomplish the objectives of this research project.
