A poetry book “Heartstrings” penned down by Dr Anu Girdhar, MDS, Professor and Head of the Department, Prosthodontics in National Dental College, Dera Bassi, Mohali, was launched on 16th September, 2022 at Chandigarh Club, Chandigarh. The Book was launched in the august presence of Ms Sumita Misra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana and Chairperson of Chandigarh Literary Society, Mr Vivek Atray, Ex IAS, Author and Motivational speaker, Dr. Avnish Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and Col. G.S. Sandhu, Chairman, National Dental College, Dera Bassi.
Dr Anu Girdhar, who is also National President, Women Dental Council, Indian Dental Association, Head Office, said that her book depicted the deepest feelings and the strongest affections of a woman’s life. She added that it was her second poetry book, the First Book “As The Life Unfolds” was released in 2021. On this occasion Ms Sumita Misra, Chief Guest of the event, said that “Heartstrings” was a meaningful book that expressed subtle and deep emotions. The readers would experience a whirlpool of emotions crafted by the poet in an understandable style.
Mr Vivek Atray, who presided over the function, explained that her poetry had encompassed several nuances of life itself in this volume which would surely appeal to all discerning readers. Dr. Avnish Kumar, the Guest of Honor stressed that the very fact that a busy doctor could find the time and the mind space to pen down such depth of feelings and thoughts was remarkable. Col. G.S. Sandhu, the Guest of Honor said that the book was a reflection of the poet’s journey into self, where she talked about mistakes and highlighted that it was human to err.
