To strengthen the fleet of CTU on Inter-State routes, Hon’ble Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Flagged off 20 HVAC buses. These buses are having latest emission standards i.e. BS-VI and having latest technology electronically controlled Diesel Engines. The buses will have heating and Air Conditioning System with Air Vents. Seating Capacity of 52 Passengers. CCTV Cameras inside the bus, one no for driver behavior, one no. Dashboard camera and one Reverse camera. Passenger Information Screens at Front, Rear side and inside Saloon Area. Pneumatically Controlled Passengers Doors.GPS device and Panic button in case on emergency. Mobile Charging Points for each row of seats. Air Suspension at rear
These 20 HVAC buses strengthen the CTU fleet on Inter-State to 178 buses (119 HVAC + 59 Non AC) and increase in daily operation to approx. 64000 kilometers
So far Chandigarh Transport Undertaking has a fleet strength of 330 buses. Out of 330 buses, 158 buses (99 HVAC buses and 59 ordinary buses) operating on various Interstate Routes connecting Khattu Shyam Ji, Salasar Ji, Tanakpur, Haldwani, Amritsar, Haridwar, Shimla, Manali, Delhi, Rewari, Narnaul, Rohtak, Hisar, Dehradun, Katra, Jaipur etc covering approximately 55,000 kilometers every day.
Agreement was signed with M/s Ashok Leyland for Purchase of 20 HVAC buses in the month of November, 2022 amounting to Rs 11.20 Crores including taxes. (Rs 55.98 lacs each bus).
