Today, under the banner of Joint Action Committee, Sanitary Installation Workers Union Chandigarh, held a meeting at Maintenance Booth Sector 35 and 20, appealed the employees to participate in the demonstration under the banner of Joint Action Committee on 16th June.
They said Demonstration will be held on June 16 against the administration in support of the cancellation of the proposal to merge the Horticulture Department with the Forest Department and other demands.
Employees will gather near Shivalik View Hotel Sector 17 at 4 pm and protest against the administration by banging thalis.
Union President Kuldeep Singh and General Secretary Nachtar Singh while addressing the employees said that the administration is not fulfilling the demands of the employees. Due to which there is anger among the employees. They Demanded that the main demands of the employees should be fulfilled soon. Convener of Joint Action Committee, Ashwani Kumar said that the administration has made a proposal to merge Horticulture Department with Forest Department, which is a completely wrong step of the administration, this proposal should be canceled immediately and the demands of the employees should be fulfilled soon. He said that the Joint Action Committee is continuously protesting peacefully, but the authorities are not giving time to discuss the main demands, due to which the employees have to protest again and again.
He said that the administration should make a safe policy for the outsourced workers, pay their salaries on time, take action against the contractors who demand money, the DC rate has been increased less, so in view of the inflation, the DC rate should be further increased, the daily wage employees will get 6th Pay scale benefits should be given, daily wage employees should be regularized, vacant posts should be filled, Regularization should be done, on the lines of the rules of center, the probation period of regularized employees should be made one year, 8 hours of work of watchmen working in schools should be fixed, the salary of mid-day meal workers should be increased, they demanded.
