Chandigarh, 13th January 2023:
The auspicious festival of Lohri was celebrated with immense cheer and enthusiasm at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh, Sector 27 Campus today. The mood was upbeat as members of the Bhavan Family were ringing in the festival after a gap of two years due to the COVID– 19 pandemic.
Vice Principal Mrs. Suparna Bansal lit the bonfire along with enthusiastic staff members amidst song and dance. The ritual of lighting the bonfire, going around the pious fire, the chanting of ‘Dulha Bhatti’, distribution of the traditional goodies like rewadis, popcorns, peanuts and gachak- all brought much needed respite from the cold environment of the classrooms.
Sr. Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora conveyed her best wishes to the students and staff and also motivated them to remain tied to their traditional culture.
