Police arrested  two  snatchers and solved  4 snatching cases

 Chandigarh 

On dated 22.02.2024 Case FIR No. 28, Dt. 22.02.2024, U/s 379A IPC, PS-36 was

registered regarding Snatching of Mobile Phone Redmi 11 Pro from complainant Daleep Parsad

S/o Hari Parsad R/o H no. 935, Sector 47A, Chandigarh Age- 29Years by one motory cyclist

from Cycle Track at 35/43 D/Road back side H no. 2564, Sec 35C, Chandigarh.

TEAM & OPERATION

On 23.02.204 working on the instructions/directions of Senior Officers Ms.

Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, W/SSP/UT Chandigarh, and Sh. Mridul, IPS, SP City the team of Police

Station Sector-36 was constituted under the close supervision of Insp Om Parkash 691/CHG,

SHO/PS-36 and overall supervision of Sh Charanjit Singh Virk SDPO/South West. The team

along with complainant of said case working on secret informaion laid down Naka near Snatan

Dharm Mandir, sector 42, Chandigarh to nab the culprit.

During Naka the police party saw one person coming on motor cycle Honda Shine

no. CH01BM3851 towards Naka side but on seeing the Naka party the motor cycle rider

immediately turned back his motor cycle and try to run away. On getting suspecious Naka party

apprehended the motor cycle rider, who disclosed his name as Soyab @ Golu S/o Aftab R/o H

no. 2041, Sector 45, CHD Age-22 Years. The complainant identified the motor cycle rider, who

was snatched his mobile phone.

On sustained interrogation of accused, he confessed his crime and disclosed that he

had snatched the mobile phone of complainant and also disclosed that he along with his friend

Chhotu had also committed snatching near sabji Mandi sector 43, Chandigarh. In this regard

case FIR no. 446 dated 05.12.2023 u/s 379A, 34 IPC PS-36 has already been registered.

Besides this he had also committed snatching in sector 34, secotor 46 as well as other area of

Chandigarh on different days.

Total 13 mobile phones have been recovered from the possession of accused Soyab @ Golu.

Futher with the arrest of Beerkha Bahadur @ Chhotu more recoveries likely to be affected.

Both the accused often take motor cycle from thier friend circle and thereafter

wandering in the UT Area and used to target the single pedestrian or cyclist people and while

they found them busy in talking on their mobile phones, then they snatched their mobile phones.

Both are drug addicts and committing snatchings during the wee hours to meet their day to day

expenditures to fulfil their demand of drugs.

The above said accused Soyab was produced before the Court today

and 02 days police obtained
