A meeting in view of forthcoming festival season was held on 13.10.2023
under the Chairmanship of the Director General of Police, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh.
Parveer Ranjan, IPS to discuss various security and protective measures as well as
law & order in the city.
The meeting was attended by Sh. R.K. Singh, IPS, IGP/UT, Ms. Kanwardeep
Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Sh. Mridul, IPS, SP/City along with all SDPO’s, DSP’s, SHO’s and
I/C PP’s of the city.
The following directions were given to all SDPOs and SHOs to maintain law &
order and peace in the city due to the upcoming festive seasons:-
1. Inputs/Intelligence are receiving regarding the movements of anti-social & anti-
national elements during these days, so all are advised to remain extra vigilant
and to keep watch on illegal activities, suspected movements and anti-national
movements in the city.
2. To make Better co-ordination with border Police Stations for sharing of
information and intensive checking.
3. Thorough checking of tenants/ servants /PGs / vendors/ hotels / Guest house/
Sarai etc. in the city.
4. To keep a check on the religious affairs in the area for their peaceful conduct.
5. Strategies to check proliferation of illicit firearms.
6. All SDPOs and SHOs will organize meeting with organizers of the Ram Leela
Committee members in their respective areas and issues security instructions
and proper arrangements and also keep check the antisocial activities.
7. Traffic arrangement in the busy markets, near temples and proper parking
should be thoroughly checked.
8. To get specially check on religious, rumors activities in the city due to the worse
situation between Israel and Philistine/Hamas.
9. PCR vehicles should be visible and extra alert in the public places.
10. To curb drink and rash driving specially at night in their areas.
