Chandigarh, November 12, 2022:
In order to generate involvement of citizens from Chandigarh in Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Municipal Corporation Chandigarh organized a Mural Competition today under Swachh Survekshan 2023 at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dhanas. Swachh Sarvekshan is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India. The competition was organized at school level as another major step towards making Swachhta, responsibility of students as well.
“Generating students’ involvement in Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and related issues like Waste Segregation at source level, Safe Disposal of Sanitary Waste, Home Composting, 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), Say No to Plastic, Impact of Swachh Bharat Mission on Citizen’s Life and different categories of wastes are the core objectives of the competition”, Ms. Anindita Mitra IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh said.
The students made beautiful and creative Murals/ wall paintings to showcase their vision towards clean and green Chandigarh. Live Jury Round was also held to review all the entries of Murals/ wall paintings competition. The competition was open for all the age groups and individuals submitted their entries through given Google form. Appreciation certificates were given to all the participants of Competition.
The cash prizes declared under Mural competition for the best three entries are Rs. 5100/- for first winner, Rs. 3100/- for second winner and Rs. 2100/- for the third winner.” said by Ms. Mitra. Prizes will be given to the winners of the competition by organizing a special event in the month of December, 2022.
