University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, Chandigarh organised One Week Skill Development Programme on Enhancing Employability Skills started from January 2, 2023 in which 40 students participated. The key objective of this course was to impart detailed knowledge on Mutual Fund and Excel and improvisation of Presentation Skills so as to equip participants for the placements. Various lectures were delivered by experienced bankers and soft skill trainers.
The key resource person Mr Sukhjeev Singh Bajaj and Mr Manoj Sehgal, ex bankers imparted insightful knowledge to the participants along the direction of the skill objectives. Mr. Bajaj tested the knowledge of the audience and brushed along the basics of the course objectives as well as the various schemes available by the government. Tax free schemes, tax deferral schemes, types of financial institutions, pension schemes and many more topics were discussed in detail.
Mr. Sehgal then spoke about the skillset and knowledge required by financial organisations and suggested ways to achieve the required skills and knowledge to not only secure employment, but also ensure commendable performance in future. Later on, he also conducted Mock interview sessions.
Ms. Amanjot, founder director of IFM shared detailed experience of the mutual funds industry. The presentation skills and MS Excel sessions were taken by Ms. Jyoti Chib.
Dr. Monika Aggarwal, Director UIAMS shared that the students attended the training programme enthusiastically and their queries and concerns were well addressed in the following Q&A session. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Amandeep Marwaha, TPO, UIAMS. Dr. Marwaha shared that the programme was highly appreciated by the participants.
