Rs.26.40 crore released for installing CCTV cameras
Says, 80 percent of the schools will be equipped with CCTV cameras

For ensuring the safety of the government school students in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government has decided to install CCTV cameras in government schools.
Informing this, School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains said, CCTV cameras will be installed in 15,584 government schools of Punjab, and Rs.26.40 crore has been released for this project.
With this decision, 80 percent government schools will be equipped with the CCTV cameras, said the Cabinet Minister, adding that by installing these CCTV cameras, the safety of students could be ensured besides preventing theft incidents in the schools.
School Education Minister Bains said, Punjab government is continuously working for the welfare of the students. Apart from meeting the basic needs of the students in the schools, the government has also initiated the School of Eminence to provide international level education to the teachers and has sent principals to Singapore for training to learn international teaching methods.
