Bhavan Vidyalaya hosts 2nd Art & Cultural Fest’23

Advisor to the Administrator, Shri Dharam Pal, IAS, inaugurates the week long  Cultural Fest

 
Chandigarh, 16th October 2023: The 2ndweeklong Art& Cultural Fest’23 themed ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ being organised by Infosys Foundation, Bengaluru and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh and Bengaluru Kendras commenced with great panache at the Bhavan Vidyalaya Sector 27 campus today.

 The grand event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest,Shri Dharam Pal, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator. The Guest of Honour for the day was Shri Vikas Gupta, Head, Infosys Chandigarh Development Centre.Sh. R.K.Saboo, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra and Former President Rotary International, presided over the function. Ms. Naga Lakshmi Rao, Member, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bengaluru Kendra along with various other dignitaries and esteemed members of the Tricity’s erudite circles was also part of this momentous event.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a soulful rendition by the school choir,spreading the message of unity and harmony in their mellifluous voices.

Mr. Manmohan Kohli, the Chairman of the Cultural Committee welcomed the august gathering and shared that the event was an attempt to recognise the indigenous artists from the Tricity and give them a platform to display their talents.

While addressing the gathering,Shri R.K. Saboo,highlighted the ideology of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan as conceived by its founder father Shri. K.M. Munshi. He also expressed his gratitude to the Infosys Foundation for promoting such events.

Shri Vikas Gupta, Head, Infosys Chandigarh Development Centre, emphasised the philosophy of Infosys and the vital role it plays in enabling the people to stay connected to their roots.

The highlight of the day was a riveting dance drama, “Vishwa Naad: Bhav, Raagaur Taal”,by Dr Samira Koser and her team of artists from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. The scintillating dance drama aimed to help us embrace and envisage a worldin which everyone is a part of a one big family.

An eclectic Art Exhibition curated by an eminent artist, Ms. Neenu Vij, unveiled the works of promising Artists from the region. The exhibition will be on display till 22nd of October.

Shri Dharam Pal, congratulated the organisers for putting up an excellent show and applauded the efforts of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and the Infosys Foundation. He later, felicitated the artists and appreciated their presentations.

The event drew to a close with Mrs. Vineeta Arora, Director (Edu) & Sr. Principal, Bhavan Chandigarh presenting the vote of thanks.

The event garnered an impressive turnout, with a heavy footfall of attendees, making it a resounding success. The enthusiastic response from the audience was a testament to their appreciation for the Fest.

The Art & Cultural fest’23 will continue till the 22nd of October presenting a plethora of artistic performances, and is being telecast live on the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Chandigarh and Bengaluru YouTube channels. Entry is free for the general public on all days from 4.30 p.m. onwards.
