The book ‘Memoir of Professional Social Workers’ is released today by Sh. Satya Pal Jain, the Additional Solicitor General of India and a Member of the Law Commission of India.; Ex-Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Chandigarh, Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Former Mayor, Chandigarh & Fellow, Panjab University, Chandigarh alongwith Dr. Gaurav Gaur, Chairperson, Centre for Social Work, Panjab University.
Memoir of Professional Social Workers’ is edited by Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Sahu, Associate Professor in charge of Psychiatric Social Work at the Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh and Dr. Chittaranjan Subudhi, Assistant Professor, in the Department of Social Work, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Central University of Tamil Nadu (by an Act of Parliament) Thiruvarur. It is published by Notion Press.
Satya Pal Jain congratulated the authors. He said that this book would help the social work educators to understand the essence of social work discipline from the journey of the documented professionals.
This will help the students to comprehend the changing scenario of Social Work in our country.
Davesh Moudgil narrated that this book would act as a source of inspiration to the beginner’s and equip them to learn from the journey of these experts.
Gaurav Gaur, stated that this book would help the educators to learn from the experiences of the seniors faculty members who had served for years in this social work field.
The current volume has fifteen scholarly articles from eminent social work professionals (both educators and practitioners) across the country. It is a humble effort to fetch their real-life story and contribution to the Social Work practice.
This will motivate other professional social workers to write about their own life experiences by themselves or someone else whom they know. Their in-depth experience and enriched knowledge will be advantageous for other professional social workers to learn from their life said KK Sahu, editor of the book.
