While taking cognisance of certain irregularities in providing health facilities to the patients in the hospital, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta directed the health authorities to rectify the same at the earliest.
Sh Gupta gave this and several other directions during his visit to Civil Hospital in Sector-6 here today, to take stock of various health facilities being provided to the patients. Civil Surgeon Dr Mukta Kumar and PMO Dr Suveer Saxena were also present on this occasion.
Sh Gupta said that a detailed report in this regard would be prepared and sent to the Additional Chief Secretary, Health. Apart from this, he would also meet the Haryana Health Minister and apprise him of the condition of the hospital so that necessary steps could be taken to bring about further improvement in the functioning of the hospital.
Sh Gupta also asked the health authorities to make arrangements for new bed sheets in the hospital. In the surgical ward, Sh Gupta found torn sheets on several beds. The State Government had implemented a scheme about one-and-a-half years ago to provide new and different colored beds sheets in government hospitals every day in a week, he added.
During his visit, patients informed Sh Gupta that Air Conditioners in a few wards of the hospital were not working as a result of which they are facing a lot of inconvenience during the summer season. On this, Sh Gupta directed to get all ACs repaired at the earliest. He said that Civil Hospital of Panchkula is among the best government hospitals in the country and lack of facilities in this hospital would not be tolerated at any cost. Besides, Sh Gupta also directed to make arrangement of water coolers in the hospital to provide clean drinking water to the patients and attendants.
On this occasion, he also inspected the Special Newborn Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Ward in the hospital and took stock of the health facilities there.
