The inaugural function of 32nd New Academic Session with white coat and oath taking ceremony of MBBS students, symbolic candle lighting ceremony for nursing students and welcoming paramedical course students’ GMCH, Chd. was held on Tuesday 15th November, 2022 at 10.00 A.M. at Block-O (Sarai Building), GMCH, Chandigarh.
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh, was the Chief Guest who delivered motivational speech to the new entrants.
The Director-Principal welcomed the new batch of students. The Chief Guest apprised the students that they have entered into an institution of academic excellence. They must work consistently and with compassion for the welfare of patients. So they must work hard to gather knowledge and apply it appropriately.
They were ensured that there is ‘Zero Tolerance’ for ragging in the GMCH, Chandigarh and they have been provided a 24 Hours Helpline number for any ragging related incidence.
The Director-Principal informed the students that from today onwards, they are entering into a new life which will be full of challenges but pleasure and they have taken up a profession which is most noble.
The While Coat Ceremony was performed where the MBBS students wore their white coats. The MBBS students pledged “Charak Shapath”.
The symbolic candle lighting ceremony was also performed by BSc Nursing students.
