Mayor Election: Congress and Aam Aadmi Party about to Reach Agreement on Alliance, BJP to Face Defeat – Bansal

2024 will be a year of change for the city; Mayors first, then MPs will also change.

Chandigarh is buzzing with excitement over the upcoming mayoral elections. Congress candidates have already filed nominations. In this context, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Pawan Bansal stated that the ongoing discussions under the India Alliance in Delhi over the past two to three days have almost led to consensus between Congress and AAP. Due to this agreement, the BJP is likely to face defeat both in the mayoral elections and in the Lok Sabha elections. It is noteworthy that Congress abstained in the mayoral elections for the last two times. However, this time, BJP, Congress, and AAP have all fielded their candidates, and with the emerging consensus, there is a possibility of some names being withdrawn before the elections.

Pawan Bansal mentioned that in the last 10 years, BJP has not undertaken any development work according to its 60-point manifesto, and they will have to bear the consequences of it. The city residents are well aware, and based on the development work done during the Congress regime, they will decide whom to choose.

Regarding the speculations about Pawan Bansal contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh, he put a stop to the rumors, stating that if the party high command gives him the opportunity, he is fully prepared to contest from the Chandigarh parliamentary seat
