Haryana under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is successfully hosting the Khelo India Youth Games-2021. While, on one hand Tau Devi Lal Stadium has been upgraded to International class, on the other, Welcome Champions Night is also being organised for the players.
Divulging more details, Ms. Sofia Dahiya, Secretary, Finance-cum-Advisor, who is monitoring the sports expo set up in the sports complex at Tau Devi Lal, said that special Haryanvi Night was organized on the first day of Welcome Champion Night, in which folk artists of Haryana performed. After that, Indian Cultural Night was organized on the second day, in which artists from Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra and other states performed.
Meanwhile today, on the third day, Haryana-origin artist Padamjit Sehrawat mesmerized the players and the audience by giving a special performance. Today’s vivid programme started with Raagini by the children of Model Sanskriti School, Sector-20, Panchkula.
The famous RJ Manav, also made the programme more interesting by playing funny games with the players and spectators and also gave them gifts. The children who attended the event took selfies with Dhakad, the mascot of Khelo India Youth Games – 2021 and danced together on Haryanvi songs.
This Champion Night remains the center of special attraction for the people. The spectators also eagerly waited for this Champion Night after energizing the players in different matches throughout the day.
In the Sports Expo organized on the Sports Achievers of Haryana, players of various states were seem eagerly taking information about the players of Haryana especially as to how a small state such as Haryana brings so many medals in Olympics, Asiad and Commonwealth.
In Tokyo Olympics 2020, 4 out of 7 medals have been bagged by the players of Haryana. The spectators and players are also eagerly inquiring about these medals along with seeking information about Olympian S. Sandeep Singh, who himself had attended this Champion Night.
Notably, the maximum speed limit of S. Sandeep Singh in hockey was measured at 145 kilometres per hour. He is the only player in the country to score the maximum five goals for Olympic qualifying match for the Indian team.
