The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized an Essay Writing Competition in collaboration with NSS Cell of Government College of Education (GCE), Sector 20, Chandigarh on 06.03.2023. The competition was organized as a part of celebration of International Women’s Day, themed as “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. More than, 30 students took part in the competition under topics; Digital Education for Sustainable Future, Role of Digital Revolution and Gender Equity, Advancement in Digital Technology to Address Humanitarian Challenges, Role of Teacher’s in Improving Access to Digital Tools, Digital Gender Gap and Gender Inequalities and Digital Gender Gap and Economic and Social Inequalities.
The objective behind organizing this competition was to make students aware of Digital Gender Gap the reason behind enhancing economic and social parities. Out of 27 entries, 3 essays were screened as best by; Dr. P.S. Kang, Chairperson, DLLL&E, PU, Chandigarh, Prof. Prabha Vig, DLLL&E, PU Chandigarh, Dr. Sapna Nanda, GCE 20, Chandigarh, Dr. Anurag Sankhian, Asstt. Prof., GCE 20, Chandigarh, Dr. Rajni Thakur, Asstt. Prof. and Dr. Ravneet Chawla, Incharge, NSS Cell, GCE 20, Chandigarh. All the participants were awarded with Certificates.
The best Essay Writing were awarded Prizes 1st -Ms. Anjali Rana; 2nd -Mr. Parash Sharma & 3rd -Komal, all students of GCE, Sec.20, Chandigarh.
