Health workers to go door-to-door for Covid-19 vaccination in the district:Mohali Civil Surgeon
SAS Nagar, June 5:
The second phase of ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign for anti-Covid vaccination is starting from June 6. Giving out details in this regard, Mohali Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur and District Immunization Officer Dr. Girish Dogra said that under this campaign, health workers from all over the district would go door to door to reach out, counsel, mobilize and vaccinate missed out, drop out beneficiaries to complete the vaccination schedule for adequate protection.
The purpose to start the second phase is to accelerate coverage of Covid-19 vaccination in 12-18 years age group and pending 2nd dose and precaution dose. Health officials said that healthcare workers will ensure that no beneficiary is deprived of immunization. In addition, those beneficiaries who have not yet received the second or third dose will also be encouraged
The Civil Surgeon said that the health workers would go door to door in the cities and villages to administer covid vaccine to the beneficiaries. “Many people are still reluctant to get the second or precaution dose,” she said. Health workers will explain the benefits of vaccination to such people and convince them for vaccination.
Emphasizing on complete anti-Covid vaccination, the civil surgeon said that every beneficiary should be vaccinated without wasting time as the vaccine gives the body the strength to fight the pandemic. She added that the vaccine is completely safe and everyone should get it without any fear. Covid vaccine is being provided free of cost in various government health institutions across the district. People can also go to the nearest health facility and get vaccinated.
The Civil Surgeon also asked people to contact the health department’s helpline 104 for the expert advice.
