Arun Sood raises the demands of the city residents, met Governor*

A BJP Chandigarh delegation comprising Davinder Singh Babla, Hukam Chand,Manu Bhasin, Devi Singh and Councillor Umesh Ghai under the leadership of State President Arun Sood met Administrator of Chandigarh, Governor Banvari Lal Purohit regarding many issues concerning common citizens of city. Arun Sood took up the matter of capping of EV vehicles and apprised the Administrator that the registration of Petrol and Diesel vehicles will end soon and the production of EV is limited to meet the needs of people, and production is very less as compared the demand, there is no proper availability of ample charging stations. Although we welcome the introduction of EVs, it should be done in a phased manner and not all of a sudden, otherwise This situation will create a lot of problems for citizens and huge loss to the people associated with conventional vehicles. Then Sood took up the matters of Hundreds of junk dealers at Makhan Majra and Sand and Gravel retailers at Dhanas who are facing demolition/ eviction notices from the administration. Sood Requested the Administrator that first, plan to rehabilitate these vendors be made on lines of Marble market businessmen at dhanas, only then these notices should be put into practice and till then status quo may be maintained. Sood discussed the issue of demolition orders issued to hundreds of houses in sector 41A.
The administrator listened to all the issues carefully and assured the delegation that all decisions will be taken to the best interests of citizens and no one will face troubles. As a follow up exercise to these issues, the delegation then met the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh Vinay Partap Singh and discussed all these issues. Deputy Commissioner too assured BJP leaders to look into the matters on priority basis. The delegation then met the CEO of Chandigarh housing board Ajay Chageti to discuss the issue of demolition orders issued to over 600 houses in sector 41A by the housing board. Ajay Chageti assured the BJP leaders to look into the matter again before taking the final decision. Arun Sood said that BJP believes in working for the welfare of common citizens and will continue to work for that. On EV issue Sood reiterated that no policy is good enough which may create problems for the citizens instead of solving that and hoped a solution to this comes soon to provide relief to worried businessmen and citizens.
