Chandigarh, June 23
Sh. Dharampal, Adviser to the Administrator visited the multilevel parking facility in September 2021 and directed the Commissioner Municipal Corporation to rework on the existing model and to make certain changes in the existing system to bring the facility to proper use.
The Municipal Corporation has made various additions in the multilevel parking facility like introduction of digital payments via POS machine, UPI and cards.
Boom barriers, dispensers, computer, controller, display screen have been placed at the site. The parking staff has been given proper uniforms for their identification at the site. Walkie Talkies will also be purchased for better coordination among the staff.
The Municipal Corporation officials have confirmed that the work shall be completed in few months so that the residents can avail the benefits of this facility.
This is a step towards modernising the parking lots of Chandigarh and converting them into Smart Parking.
