Chandigarh Traffic Police conducts Road Safety Awareness Session titled project ” Suraksha “

Today on dated 23/07/2022 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Labour Station  Sector 44 C  Chandigarh, Chandigarh Traffic Police in association with Rotary Club Chandigarh   conducted Road Safety Awareness Session titled project ” Suraksha “for vulnerable  Non Motorized Transport (NMT ) users I.e. Cycle/Rickshaw/Rehri users keeping in view their safety and visibility and to motivate them to Always use dedicate Cycle Tracks while going to work from home or  returning home from work. 

        During this awareness session CTP Road Safety Awareness Team under the Supervision of Insp Parvesh Sharma gave 

Special Emphasis  on the Safety of Cyclists/Rickshaw/Rehri users by motivating them to Always use Cycle track  and the cycle track marked on the main road  during day and night time  for their own safety.

          To follow Traffic lights and to move on the left side of road where Cycle tracks are not available and not to move in wrong side on the road. Reflectors to be affixed on their Cycle/Rickshaw/Rehri and to wear reflective jacket/ Belt for visibility in night hours to avoid being hit by other vehicles.

          Under the project ” SURAKSHA ” for improving the Visibility of Cycle/Rickshaw/Rehri and for their safety  800 Reflective Tape Stickers were Affixed upon 400 cycles . During this drive Sh  Vinod Kumar , President Rotary Club  Ms Abha Sharma , Secretary with their team members and  Pardhan labour shri Ram Lal were also present. The participants appreciated this drive and pledged to obey Traffic rules and to use cycle tracks for their safety. 400 Cyclists participated in this awareness session.
