Free-Precaution/Booster Dose- COVID Vaccination in UT Chandigarh

 Chandigarh, July 17

Govt. of India has announced that a new initiative – ‘COVID Vaccine Amrit Mahotsava’ would be launched to provide free precaution dose at all Government COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs). The main aspects are as under:

• Eligible Population: Persons aged 18 years & above

• Duration of initiative: 15th July’22 to 30th September’22 (75 days)

• Eligibility Criteria: All persons of 18 years and who have completed 6 months or 26 weeks from the date of administration of 2nd dose

In UT Chandigarh, free Precaution Dose for 18 years and above has started from  15th July, 2022 at the following major health facilities:

a) PGIMER

b) GMCH-32

c) GMSH-16

d) CH-45 

e) CH-22

f) CH-Manimajra

g) HWC-42

Special workplace vaccination camps are being organized at big office complexes (Public and Private), Industrial Establishments, Railway Stations, Inter-State Bus stations etc. On Monday (18.07.2022), special vaccination camps  will be organized at the premises of :

• Chandigarh Housing Board in Sector-9

• UT Guest House in Sector-6.

• Shiv Mandir, Sector-43A

• Government School- Sector 49D

On Tuesday (19.07.2022) special vaccination camp for Pre-caution Dose is being organized at Press Club in Sector- 27B

Any organization (whether Government or Private, Religious or Social, Commercial or Charitable, Market Associations, RWAs) may contact Dr. Manjit Singh, District Immunization Officer  on his mobile No- 9463488086 for organizing special vaccination camps at their premises. However there should be atleast 50 beneficiaries  for better utilization of the precious resources of the Health Department. 

Considering that the COVID cases has started rising again, Shri Dharampal, Adviser to Administrator has made an appeal to all the citizens to get their Pre-Caution Dose without any further delay. He has also emphasized on early COVID vaccination of the remaining children between the age of 12 year to 18 years.
