Haryana Chief Secretary Issues Directive on Handling of Vigilance Department Reports

Chandigarh, October 5 – The Haryana Chief Secretary Mr Sanjeev Kaushal  has issued a directive to all Administrative Secretaries concerning the handling of matters, complaints, source reports, and enquiry reports referred by the Vigilance Department.

All matters, complaints, source reports, enquiry reports, and related documents forwarded by the Vigilance Department to the Administrative Departments must receive thorough attention. Administrative Secretaries are obligated to ensure the proper handling of these documents, including conducting necessary inquiries and providing comprehensive reports and comments. Subsequently, the reports and comments should be promptly returned to the Vigilance Department for further review and necessary action.

The communication addressed to Administrative Secretaries underscores a significant concern. It has come to the attention of state government that, in certain cases where the Vigilance Department sought comments and responses from Administrative Secretaries, these cases were closed by the Administrative Secretaries themselves, with no accompanying reports or comments provided to the Vigilance Department. In such instances, the Administrative Secretaries merely sent a copy of the closure for informational purposes.
