Chandigarh, July 31
On Sunday, Chandigarh and the surrounding areas were hit by heavy rain, resulting in water logging on the roads and many stranded drivers.
The neighbouring towns of Mohali and Zirakpur in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana were also affected by heavy downpours.
On the outskirts of Chandigarh in Zirakpur, Punjab, a heavy rainfall also caused waterlogging on numerous roads, causing traffic jams.
It rained in many areas of Punjab and Haryana, bringing the temperature down a few degrees.
By the rain, the residents saw some respite from rise in temperature. However, there were power cuts in adjoining parts of Chandigarh. The power supply was restored later.
The water logging was also witnessed in some people’s homes in the villages of the district which caused inconvenience to many.
