Master Bobby Chahar of Chandigarh secures bronze medal in freestyle wrestling in khelo india youth games – 21 

Chandigarh, June 8

Master Bobby Chahar, the agile wrestler  of Chandigarh secured a bronze medal in 80 Kgs Wt. Category in freestyle wrestling event beating Dev Rana of Delhi on the 4th day of ongoing Khelo India Youth Games-2021-22 at Panchkula, Haryana.

   Master Bobby started judging his opponent’s strength in first round and led with two points by applying his finest skills.  In the second round opponent resisted but could snatch only three points. 

In the last 30 seconds of second round Master Bobby Chahar applied the penetration shot to weaken the defence of opponent and added more 4 points in his account to win the bout with a margin 6-2 Points.

Master Yashveer Singh Malik, Gold Medalist of KYIG-21 in 65 Kgs Weight Category and Bobby, Bronze Medalist in 80 Kgs Wt. Category  are  the trainees of Manimajra Sports Complex and are being trained under the watchful eyes of Sh. Darshan Lal and Jugvinder Singh, Wrestling Coaches. 

Chandigarh Sports Department is also providing all technical and financial support to the sports talents of the city and working on a concrete plan to boost the sports performance of city athletes as well as mass participation of local players in sports at different sports training centres of the city.
