O.T. Technical staff Association PGIMER Chandigarh celebrated National Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technologist’s Day on 20th July 2022 in PGIMER Chandigarh in Bhargava Auditorium as part of nationwide celebrations on this ocassion.
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER was Chief Guest on the occasion. Prof. Neeraja Bhardwaj, Head Department of Anaesthesia & Intensive Care, Prof. Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent cum Head, Department of Hospital Administration PGI Chandigarh, Sh. Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, IRS, Deputy Director Administration PGI graced the function as Guest of Honour. Prof. Y.L. Narayana, Prof. Sandhaya, and Prof. Suman Arora from Deptt of Anaesthesia, Sh. Kumar Abhay, Financial Advisor of the Institute were special guest on this occasion.
While addressing the gathering Prof. Vivek Lal said that O.T. Technicians are an important part of OT team and play very important role in Operation theatres by providing technical skills. He also praised the O.T. Technical Staff for the exemplary services provided by them during covid-19 pandemic. He congratulated OT Technical Staff and asked them to serve the patient with compassion. He assured that all the pending issues of O.T. Technical Staff will be resolved on priority and his team is working on all these issue.
Mr. Naresh Gautam in his introductory speech highlighted the history of this professional day celebration and importance of celebrating National Anaesthesia and OT Technologist Day on national level. He said that this day is being celebrated to recognise the very important role played by Anaesthesia and OT Technologists in Operation Theatres and Intensive Care Units. He also highlighted the exemplary work performed by the O.T. Technical Staff during covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. Jagjit Singh President of Association also congratulated the Technologists on this momentous day while highlighting some important issues of O.T. Technologists of PGIMER and urged Director to consider resolving these issues sympathetically and in time bound manner.
Mr. Manoj Kumar urged all the O.T. Technologists to plant a sapling to commemorate this important day and nurture that plant until it becomes a tree.
Mr. Manglesh Sharma, General Secretary of the Association thanked Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER and other Dignitaries present on this occasion for sparing their valuable time and for showering their blessing on the O.T. Technical Staff on this auspicious ocassion.
A colourful cultural program was the highlight of the celebration consisting Himachali Dance “Nati”, Punjabi Bhangra, Solo songs and dance performances showing the creative side of O.T. Technologists. A professional DJ group “Golden DJ” from Chandigarh enthralled the audiences with their sparkling performance.
O.T. Technical staff participated in the celebration with their families with much enthusiasm. All the participants were presented the certificates and mementoes for their participation in the program. Function was followed by sumptuous dinner for all.
