Government will formulate a policy to reduce the drop out rate

Chandigarh, October 23 –

Haryana Government has prepared a new mechanism for providing quality education to the children which will further lead them to avail employment opportunities in the state.  Under this initiative, the data of citizens collected in through Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) has been divided into 6 categories according to age group of citizens and the responsibility of each category has been assigned to a Department.  Each Department will maintain a complete record of the benefits of all welfare schemes and services according to age group, education, health and employment etc.

The Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal believes that providing education, health and employment is the top most priority and moral responsibility of the state government.  With this vision, the state government has prepared a new action plan, under which all-round development and welfare of every citizen will be ensured while laying emphasis on education, health, security, self-respect and self-reliance.

Responsibility of children up to 6 years of age assigned to the Department of Women and Child Development

According to the action plan, the responsibility of children up to the age of 6 years has been entrusted to the Department of Women and Child Development.  The Department will pay special attention to the elementary education and nutrition of these children.  In addition to this, the Department will also keep a track of every child whether that child is staying to home, going to anganwadi or school till the age of 6 years and whether he is getting the required nutritious food or not. Besides this, the state government is also laying emphasis on setting up crches for day care of children.

If children will get good nutrition and education in the beginning, then the foundation will be strong and they will step forward in a positive direction in their lives.

To reduce the drop out rate, the state government will bring a  policy

The importance of school education is much more necessary than elementary education.  Therefore, no child should be deprived of education. With this vision, now the school education department will take special care of the children during the age group of 6 to 18 years.  As per the instructions of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, the School Education Department is preparing a  policy to reduce the dropout rate, under which the department will provide education to every child as well as keep a special tracking record of the drop out children, so as to reduce the drop out rate.  The Department will have the data of every child taking education in school or ITI or any other institute.

With this strategy, the state government will have complete information about every child across the state and if any child drops out from the educational institution due to any reason, then the government will try to bring that child back and rejoin the educational institution.

The Higher Education and Employment Department will take over the command of providing employment opportunities to the youth

The youth have been facing a employment crisis even after getting education.

To help the youth in this situation, the state government has now entrusted the responsibility to the departments.  The employment responsibility of youth of age group of 18 to 24 years has been entrusted to the Higher Education Department and above 25 years to the Employment Department.  These departments will lay emphasis on the employment of youth as well as their skill development.

By providing education and skill training to the youth, the Departments will not only make the youth employable, but they will also become coordinators in providing employment to the youth in the private sector by establishing liaison with industrial units.

For all these activities, data will be sent every month to these departments by the Parivar Pehchan Patra Authority. The Departments will implement these activities at their level.  The data of 70 lakh families and 2.80 crore members has been updated on the Parivar Pehchan Patra portal.  Verification of caste, date of birth, income of families across the state has been completed
