The state of the art modular OT complex and the air conditioned general wards of the Department of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery in the Nehru hospital extension Building(NHE) were inaugurated on Saturday, 11th June, 2022 by Professor Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER Chandigarh.
On the occasion, Professor Naresh Panda, Head Department of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery said that the three modular state of the art OT’s with world class facilities would help to decrease the long waiting list for the patients of the region, especially for the patients suffering from Head and Neck Cancer.
The general wards with facility of ICU would go a long way for helping in patient care. The OT facilities with complete integration of all the ENT equipment required for surgery with facility of online streaming for education and research will be a boon for the budding Otolaryngologists to learn in a better way.
The facilities available in this complex are one of its kind in the region, technology and infrastructure wise which would give tremendous boost for patient care, teaching and research in the Department. Deputy Director Sh. Kumar Gaurav, Dr Vipin Kaushal, Medical Superintendent cum Head Hospital Administration, Sh. Kumar Abhay Financial Advisor, PGIMER, Chandigarh were also present at the occasion.
