Prof. Kapoor informed that Enactus team has again brought laurels to Panjab University by securing first position amongst all Enactus India teams, in Colgate-Palmolive Know your OQ Challenge, focused on promoting dental health & hygiene. This challenge started by Colgate-Palmolive in February 2022 is aimed to make people understand and improve their oral health quotient and understand the links between oral health and overall health and wellbeing.
Enactus, Panjab University is a student chapter of a global internationally recognised Non-Profit Organization with a base in 33 countries and a motto of head for business, heart for the world and hand for service. The team with over 100 members continues to deliver activities that benefit and make this world a better, happier & healthier place, told Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor of Enactus team.
The team will now be competing at Global level for this challenge. Under this challenge, team in joint efforts with Colgate Palmolive & partners organized radio talk shows & awareness sessions on dental hygiene by doctors from Dental Dept., PGI, Chandigarh. Beneficiaries were sensitized through videos, skits, etc. as to how they can avoid dental diseases by using simple solutions. Enactus team with help of NGOs & NPOs contributed to the cause by replicating similar events at different places, informed Sonali, Vice President of team.
Colgate dental kits were distributed amongst the underprivileged families of Nayagaon & at Samarth, residential home for specially-abled children. Communities were provided with the means to proclive healthy dental care habits, averred Meesha, Vice President of team.
