Chandigarh selected among top 30 districts of the country for its innovative plan, wins at District Skill Development Plan awards

Chandigarh, June 9

Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Shri Vinay Kumar Pratap, received ‘Certificate of Excellence’ at the District Skill Development Plan awards ceremony held at New Delhi.

Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, presented the award. Awards for Excellence in District Skill Development Planning (DSDP) were instituted under the Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) project by Ministry of Skill Development Entrepreneurship in June 2018.

It aims to promote decentralised planning, acknowledge and reward the extraordinary and innovative work done by districts in the field of skill development.

Out of 700+ districts in India, Chandigarh is selected among top 30 districts of the country for its innovative plan and successful implementation of the same. Winning District Skill Development Plan was prepared under the guidance of District Skill Committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner and Chandigarh Skill Development Mission headed by the Mission Director, Shri Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS.

The Research Officer Mrs. Anju Verma Lakhani and Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow, Aarav Jain was the key members of the team that prepared this plan. Now, the District Skill Committee and Chandigarh Skill Development Mission are working on the District Skill Development Plan 2022-23.
