Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta inspected crematorium in Sector-20

Gupta announced to give Rs 11 lakh for the arrangement of an additional cremation van

Panchkula, May 27-

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta today inspected the crematorium run by Shri Sanatan Dharma Vaikunth Dham Seva Samiti in Sector-20 and took stock of various facilities available. He also announced to give Rs 11 lakh from his discretionary fund to the Samiti for the arrangement of an additional cremation van.

          Gupta accompanied by Mayor, Municipal Corporation Kulbhushan Goyal and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Dharamveer Singh inspected the shed, gas cremation chamber and other facilities at the crematorium.

          Gupta directed the concerned officers of Municipal Corporation to get the testing of the gas cremation chamber conducted  at the earliest and also assess the requirement of gas to be used in the chamber so that an adequate quantity of gas could be made available in the crematorium as per the requirement. The gas cremation chamber installed at the crematorium about a year ago is lying unused due to lack of testing. Gas fire chamber is a better alternative to wood and easily available also, he added. 

          On this occasion, Sanatan Dharma Vaikunth Dham Seva Samiti also raised the issue of boundary wall of crematorium before Gupta. The representatives of the Samiti requested that the remaining boundary wall of the crematorium be completed at the earliest. The officials of Municipal Corporation informed that work for the construction of boundary wall of crematorium and laying tiles has been done at a cost of Rs 17 lakh.

Pradeep Goel, President, Shri Sanatan Dharma Vaikunth Dham Seva Samiti informed that the Samiti has only a cremation van and there is a requirement of an additional van. On this, Gupta announced to give Rs 11 lakh for his discretionary fund to the Samiti for arrangement of an additional van.

Later, Gupta inspected the shed in the cremation ground and directed the officials to provide all necessary facilities at the crematorium.

Pradeep Goyal said that Shri Sanatan Dharma Vaikunth Dham Seva Samiti has always been in the forefront in helping poor and needy people. He said that the samiti makes all necessary arrangements for cremation free of cost for the poor people who are unable to bear the expenditure.

Among those present on this occasion included Superintendent Engineer, Municipal Corporation Vijay Goyal, Executive Engineer Sumit Malik, Councilor Jai Kaushik, Suresh Verma, Councilor of Sector-20 and Vice President of Shri Sanatan Dharma Vaikunth Dham Seva Samiti Sushil Garg,  members of the samity namely  Kamal, Sanjay, Ajay Kumar Goel, BK Gupta, Kewal Gupta and other representatives.
