Chandigarh, Aug 11
Panjab University is hosting students from Nottingham Trent University, who are visiting the campus and the city for short-term mobility under the Turing Scheme from August 7-14, 2022. Under the stewardship of Prof. Deepti Gupta, Dean International Students, a host of academic sessions, excursions and workshops are being organized, showcasing the rich culture and diversity of India and Panjab.
The day began with a Cultural Immersion session celebrating Raksha Bandhan, hosted by Prof. Renu Thakur, Professor, AIHC and Dr. Anu H. Gupta, Chairperson, UIFT& VD. Under the auspices of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a short writing competition on “India through my eyes” had been announced earlier, in which the students were encouraged to share their perspective on India and its 75 years of independence. Students discussed their viewpoint with Prof. Gaurav Verma, Coordinator CRIKC and were awarded mementos and gifts by Prof. Anju Suri, Dean, College Development Council, PU.
This was followed by an academic lecture on Virasat-e-Khalsa by Prof. Sukhmani Bal Riar and a visit to Virasat-e-Khalsa, under the guidance of Prof. Renu Thakur and Prof. Sukhmani. In the evening, the students were later familiarised with various cultural rituals like Mehandi, Churiyan, Rangoli making, Parandaa, Jutti & Dastar tying, under the supervision of Prof. Renu Thakur and Dr. Anu H. Gupta.
- Executive Committee Meeting of FOSWAC held Chandigarh The Executive Committee Meeting of FOSWAC (Federation of Sectors Welfare Association Chandigarh) was held at “People Convention Centre” sector 36 Chandigarh on Sunday 31 st March 2024 under the chairmanship of Sh. Baljinder Singh Bittu. It was attended overwhelmingly by sixty federating members of RWAs. The General secretary welcomed the participants. The newly elected Presidents Dr Cheema and Amardeep Singh as President of RWAs sectors 34 and sector 39 respectively were congratulated. Addressing the members Baljinder Singh Bittu Chairman FOSWAC raised the issue of Community Centres. He said “community centers are not for community” Residents are not allowed to even enter the community centres specially after their renovation, where crores of public money are spent. The Municipal Corporation has converted these community centres into Marriage Palaces. There are community rooms for Yoga, reading, Gymnasiums, Badminton courts etc. but residents are not allowed to use them. Earlier all such facilities were available to the residents. In the name of Election Code even the paid bookings are cancelled. - काग़ज़ी विकास का कब तक ढोल पीटेगी भाजपा, जनता हक़ीक़त से है भली-भांति वाकिफ- पवन बंसलचंडीगढ़ शहर के पूर्व सांसद और वरिष्ठ कांग्रेस नेता पवन कुमार बंसल ने जीएमसीएच 32 में चल रहे प्रधानमंत्री आयुष्मान भारत हेल्थ एंड वेलनेस सेंटर को भाजपा की जालसाज़ी बताया है। पवन बंसल ने कहा कि भाजपा को सिर्फ काग़ज़ी विकास ही करना आता है। ज़मीनी स्तर पर जनता के लिए कोई काम भाजपा ने किया ही नहीं। “चंडीगढ़ को डिस्पेंसरियों से लेकर छोटे-बड़े सभी तरह के अस्पतालों की सुविधाएँ कांग्रेस के वक्त ही मिल गई थी, जिनमें लोगों को घर के पास ही स्वास्थ्य सेवाएँ मिल जाती थी, लेकिन भाजपा ने इन डिस्पेंसरियों का नाम बदल कर आयुष्मान भारत हेल्थ एंड वेलनेस सेंटर कर दिया और सिर्फ बाहर से रंग बदल कर इसे अपनी स्कीम के तौर पर प्रचार कर दिया, जबकि सुविधाएँ ज़रूरत के हिसाब से बढ़ाई ही नहीं गई। काग़ज़ों में ऐसे 15 सेंटर दिखाए गए, जिनमें से एक तो जीएमसीएच 32 के प्रशिक्षण केंद्र में ही चल रहा है। जबकि मेडिकल कॉलेज में सामुदायिक चिकित्सा विभाग के डॉक्टर पहले से ही ओपीडी चला रहे थे। ये है भाजपा का काग़ज़ी विकास, जहाँ जनता के लिए सहूलत है ही नहीं।”

- मुख्यमंत्री ने कांगड़ा जिला को दी 784 करोड़ रुपये की 33 विकास परियोजनाओं की सौगातमुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने बुधवार को कांगड़ा जिले के अपने दौरे में देहरा और नगरोटा बगवां विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 784 करोड़ रुपये की 33 विकास परियोजनाओं के उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास किए।मुख्यमंत्री ने देहरा विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 356.02 करोड़ रुपये की 3 परियोजनाओं की आधारशिलाएं रखीं। उन्होंने देहरा के वनखंडी में 350 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनने वाले वन्य प्राणी उद्यान की आधारशिला रखी।उन्होंने देहरा विस में 6.02 करोड़ रुपये की दो सड़कों नैहरन पुखर से बाड़ा वाया भरूण तथा चिंतपुरनी से बरवाड़ा के कार्य का शिलान्यास किया।इसके उपरांत मुख्यमंत्री ने नगरोटा बगवां के गांधी मैदान में नगरोटा बगवां तथा पालमपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र के लिए 427 करोड़ रुपये की 30 विकास परियोजनाओं के उद्घाटन और शिलान्यास किए।उन्होंने राजीव गांधी राजकीय इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज नगरोटा बगवां के 6.50 करोड़ रुपये से निर्मित पुस्तकालय तथा कंप्यूटर सेंटर का उदघाटन किया। इसके अलावा उन्होंने 3.80 करोड़ रुपये की लागत के राजकीय फार्मा कॉलेज में बने 100 बच्चों की क्षमता के छात्र छात्रावास का लोकार्पण तथा 41.47 करोड़ रुपये से बने 200 बिस्तरों के श्री जी.एस. बाली मातृ शिशु अस्पताल टांडा का उद्घाटन किया।मुख्यमंत्री ने राजीव गांधी इजीनियरिंग कॉलेज में 6.80 करोड़ रुपये से बने 33 केवी सब स्टेशन का लोकार्पण भी किया। …
