Pensions to needy : Dept of social security to hold camps enmasse on Aug 17 to ensure no beneficiary is left out

Chandigarh, August 14:

To facilitate every beneficiary in state, the department is holding pension camps enmasse on August 17 across the state.’ The Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur states this in press statement issued here today.

Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to ensure that every needy gets benefit of state run pension schemes at the grass root level under the aegis of Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab.

Dr. Baljit Kaur added that old age pension, widow pension, dependent children’s pension and disabled persons pension is Rs 1500 per month. Under these pensions 30,67,927 beneficiaries are getting benefits at present. An amount of Rs. 460 crore has been released by the Punjab government as pension for the month of July 2022.

She said that convenience camps are being set up at different places to extend the benefits of pension schemes to the needy citizens of the state.

 She appealed to the eligible citizen that he or she can come to the Suwidha camp and submit his or her application form by fulfilling necessary conditions as per instructions of government.

According to which further action will be taken by the officials present on the spot to approve the pension of the needy eligible persons.

 Similarly, convenience camps will be organized at different places in the state on Wednesdays of every week in the month of August 2022 and September 2022.
