At least 8 people have been killed in an accident on Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. 18 people were reportedly injured in the unfortunate incident.
An accident happened when a double decker bus was hit by another bus which was coming from behind.
The accident took place at Narendrapur Madraha village under Lonikatra police station area of Barabanki.
The injured were admitted to the Haidergarh Community Health Center and trauma centre in Lucknow for treatment.
The buses were plying from Sitamarhi and Supaul towards Delhi.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed grief over the Purvanchal Expressway accident. He stated that the administration had asked the officials and medical professionals to provide the injured with the best possible treatment.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives in a road accident on the Poorvanchal Expressway in Barabanki. He prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and said that local administration is providing all possible help.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the Purvanchal Expressway in November 2021.
