Chandigarh, July 31
Sh. Amit Shah, Home Minister, Government of India inaugurated the Samavesh Program of Chandigarh Police that envisions to transform the perception of public for Police at Sukhna Lake today evening.
Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Governor Punjab & Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister Haryana, Shri Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister Himachal Pardesh, Shri Anil Vij and Shri Dushyant Chautala, Cabinet Ministers Haryana, Smt. Kirron Kher, MP Chandigarh, Shri Gian Chand Gupta, Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Union Home Secretary, Shri Dharam Pal, Adviser to Administrator and Shri Praveer Ranjan, DGP, UT Chandigarh were present on this occasion.
Shri Praveer Ranjan DGP informed that under “Samavesh”, the Citizen Services Centre (CSC) situated in many police stations will also be linked with Atal Sahabhagita Kenders of the Chandigarh police. All the non-crime police services including address verification, passport verification, character verification, tenant/PG verification, etc., will be dealt in the kendras, sources added.
The UT police will form committees involving persons from particular areas, similar to village panchayats, to amicably settle matters in which people do not want police interference. These committees will be formed under the program called “Samavesh”.
