Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh paid a fitting tribute to its teaching staff on the occasion of Teachers Day here today. The management and students organised celebrations with great verve and enthusiasm. The Celebrations were special this year as Bhavan Vidyalaya New Chandigarh joined the other two schools to celebrate their First Teachers Day.
The students of classes 6th to 10th organised special assembly on Saturday, the 3rd of September in which they expressed their heart felt gratitude for their teachers in a variety of ways. Tanya Bansal of VIII recited a self-composed poem followed by the recitation of SHALOKAS by the school choir. Aarushi of class X narrated a story on the role of teachers in shaping students’ lives. Aadaa Mohan recited some perfectly befitting Dohas for the occasion.
The members of the cabinet welcomed the distinguished Chairman, Shri. R.K. Saboo, Vice Chairman, Mr. Jagesh Khaitan, Honorary Secretary, Mr. Madhukar Malhotra, Senior Principal, Ms. Vineeta Arora, Vice Principal Ms. Suparna Bansal, Principal New Chandigarh School Ms. Inderpreet Kaur and Principal Junior School, Ms. Soma Mukhopadhay for the celebrations on the 5th of September.
The celebrations on the 5th commenced with a special cake cutting ceremony followed by a musical number by Sana and Rachit. Next up was an interesting game- What’s in your bag, followed by Tambola and Antakshari. Mr. Vinay, president of the Bhavans Old Student Society, then addressed the teachers and thanked them for their untiring effort.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri R. K. Saboo, Chairman Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra wished the teachers and appreciated their dedication and commitment towards their profession. He also presented the teachers a book, titled ‘Imagine- NO CHILD LEFT INVISIBLE’ by Shelja Sen. He then invited the teachers to a sumptuous lunch organised at a city hotel.
